Information Experience Design

The following are a series of graphic narratives based on my time working on the Information Experience Design programme at the Royal College of Art 2014-2021:

Sound Battle
Marker pen on wood
2021

A sounds seminar in the Darwin Building, where Ronnie Deleen batteled Yuri Suzuki to reproduce noises/ sounds called out by the audience. Around that time we still had an IED lab and Yuri was wearing a lab coat. I don’t think Ronnie was but I wanted to give him one in hounour of the lab space, which although gone still feels like it was at the heart of IED.

Paper Cones

2021

This is what I would call classic era IED- a three hour seminar where we all lay under paper cones. All the staff and all the students. We lined the floors of the Senior Common Room in South Kensington.

White Noise

2021

White Noise is a monthly experiemental sound performance led by Ronnie Deleen. Here he is playing a set at the IED Work in Progress show in 2020. On the right is Yiming Yang’s crazy Barbie Machine.

Sensory Ethnography

2021

Teaching sensory ethnography with Daisy Buckly on Hamstead Heath. Collaborative den building and documenting the sense. Teaching students in a tree. It was winter and freezing but still we stayed there until dark.
